Final Fantasy XII was the first Final Fantasy game I bought, and I didn't know if it would be good or not. I started playing and was relieved to find out that it was an amazing game. I've said games were amazing before, but this is more amazing than any game I've ever played. It has amazing characters, beautiful scenery, exotic locales, strange and wonderful creatures, and two unique features new to Final Fantasy. First, there are no more turn-based battles. I never liked turn-based battles anyway. Instead, there are real time battles. And that means no more random encounters! Oh yeah! The other new feature is the unique license system. Here's how it works. You get license points from defeating creatures. You use those points on the license menu to buy licenses, which you need to equip new equipment, magic, and so on. You can't use equipment as soon as you get it. You have to get the license for it first. While some people may think that sucks, I think it's a good idea, because while you earn license points, you also gain experience points. Two for the price of one! Also, there is something called the Sky Pirate's Den, where you get character figures when you do certain things, kind of like an achievement system. Overall, Final Fantasy XII is an AMAZING game. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would give it 20. But sadly I can't, so I give Final Fantasy XII a perfect 5 out of 5.
